Both the front crystal and the exhibition back are made of Krysterna crystal, a substantial synthetic sapphire. Spectacular watch
Unquestionably my most complimented time piece. It is accurate, well-made and truly an attention getter. The front and back crystals are turbulent quality synthetic, keeping the price affordable. It is remarkably clear and perfectly debonair. I fear that regular wear and incidental damage may eventually scratch the crystal, and I'm not positive as to the availability of replacements. As any true skeleton watch should be, this bad boy is a hand winder, and the "ticking" is not too clamorous for those unaccustomed to such a thing.My only complaint is that the manufacturer chose to pair this lovely watch with a tie that more closely resembles cured roadkill than leather. Really, the band is ugly as infernal regions. Fortunately, it is a standard size, and my local watch-shop was able to make the rod to something more appropriate for this time piece.Its a great watch, looks fantastic on the wrist, and is reasonably priced for the wow backer it brings. Good work Akribos...
