Terrific Sit with, Excellent Vendor Service
I purchased this be prepared after rather exhaustively reviewing the many, many offerings at Amazon.com. When it first arrived, I found myself vaguely let down. Somehow, it didn't seem quite as superb as in the photos. But as the weeks have gone by, my opinion has completely turned around on that. This watch is really very charming, and the numerous compliments I've now received serve as confirmation. It also appears to be extremely accurate and, perversely to some other reviews, setting it (including day and date) was not at all difficult. Do remember that it has a screw-down crown; you privation to unscrew it before actually pulling out the stem. That is NOT explained, at all, in the (very inadequate) instruction manual. Is this alter ego to an Omega automatic diver's watch, which has a similar appearance? I'm sure it's not. But, then, it only costs about 1/10th as much. A Benevolent Value with a Few Rough Edges
The Bulova 98C62 Marine Star vigilant is diver's style quartz/electronic watch rated water resistant to 200 meters. It has a downhearted face with large, luminous hour and minute hands, a red-tipped second power and a day/date feature. The dial itself has large luminous dashes at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, an inverted illuminated triangle at the 12 o'clock position and large luminous dots at the other positions. Marker luminosity fades right off the bat, though, and becomes ineffective after about 20 minutes in the dark. Surrounding the dial is a classic unidirectional timing cell (rotates CCW) calibrated in increments of 10 with 60 click-stops per revolution (most head-over-heels watches have 120). The ring presents very legible chrome figures on a blue training. Overall the watch is very easy to read (except in the dark after 20 minutes), even for those with poor detailed-up vision. Hublot Big Pummel Look Alike
I bought this scrutinize at Christmas because it looks so much like the Hublot Big Bang watch that costs $25,000. From a few feet somewhere else it looks identical and some friends thought that I was wearing the Hublot. It is a bit heavy but you would expect that from a guard against of this size with a heavy rubber watch band. Some may find the band uncomfortable. It doesn't fit under some put on fancy dress shirts so I typically wear it only when I dress casually. I do not think that anyone would be disappointed with this watch for the rate (it is easy to find for much less that the $425.00 suggested price).
From head to toe a stunner...but
A certain extent a piece of work, heavy, thick, fine detail, very substantial rubber wrist band. This is alot of lookout and your going to need a lot of wrist to wear it well. Now this is subjective but if your wrist is medium or less in diameter, this guard is going to swallow, for lack of a better word, your wrist. Also I didn't find the rubber wrist gang very comfortable to wear. I found myself constantly adjusting it. It's also a struggle to get the thing off. That said, it truely is a formidable looking piece.
Bulova Sentry
I bought this watch over for my husband for Valentines day. He saw it in a magazine and commented how cool it looked. I thought I'd surprise him and ordered it. Not only was it about $100 less than ordering it from the Bulova area but the watch was beautiful and looks exactly like its image! I wish I could have captured my soothe's face when he opened the gift. The only thing I had to do was set the time and wind it up so that the date matched...Thanks Amazon....came through again!!

Hair-splitting watch. Large case, but not so big it looks like you are wearing an "arm clock" a la Flavor Flav. I was looking for a superior design divers watch, but did not feel it necessary to spend $1k or more on an Tag Aquaracer, Rolex GMT, or Omega Seamaster. Nor did I inadequacy a "cheap" copy. I have owned several Bulova watches. I like the name. I like the look. I like the guerdon. I would definitely recommend this watch to others.
Euphoric Quality, Low Price
Pros: - Well-made stainless steel bracelet. (Does not feel cheap) - For the price, the diver bezel rotates very smoothly. - Obliging lum - Added diver clasp is nice to have. - Good weight, and size. Doesn't seem inordinately massive like some diver watches. - Just looks and feels more overpriced then it really is. Cons: - The picture on Amazon is deceiving. The color blue is much darker and masculine in proper life. Overall: I'm really satisfied with my purchase. It's a solid watch with right accuracy. If you want a quality constructed divers watch that looks good in either official or casual occasions, this is for you. If you must have a big name Swiss made watch with automatic movements then look elsewhere.

Spectacular watch!
I've wanted a opportune dive watch for a while but a Rolex Submariner or Omega Seamaster is way out of my price range. I started looking for something more affordable and the Bulova Marine Star vanguard caught my eye. I was torn between this model and the 98C62. Both seem to be a cross between the Submariner and Seamaster, with this one a bit more like the Rolex and the 98C62 a bit more like the Omega. The awake to is beautiful in person and the pics here on Amazon don't do it justice. The blue is much deeper than in the pics, though not undoubtedly a navy blue. The middle of the band along with some accents on the face are shiny, contrasting nicely with the brushed what really happened and outer parts of the band. The only thing I'd change about the look would be to put the date window in the 3 o'clock arrangement but that's really no big deal. It's a good size, though perhaps a bit big if you have a smaller wrist, and there's enough weight to know you're wearing it without being bogged down...

I set the ease and date but then the minute hand stopped. The watch keeps the time but I would like the jiffy hand to move like it was before i reset the time
