Easy on the eyes watch, manufacturing issues and poor service
I have wanted an IWC for a extended, long time and finally this Christmas, my wife made it happen for me with the Portofino Automatic. We had to wait a while because IWC had manufacturing issues and shut up down production for several months in 2011, but around Christmas time one finally popped up and she snagged it pronto.Without a doubt, this is a gorgeous watch. It is a little noisy, but evidently that's the self-winding approach and after a couple weeks I grew to think of that as more of a cool feature than a nuisance. That period, from 2 weeks in to 8 weeks in was the crow time with me and my IWC and I was VERY happy with the watch. Then something broke. The crown and stem became detached from the watch. No bill to the watch, just at the end of February, I needed to adjust the day and when I pulled on the crown, the WHOLE thing came out. I was make of surprised, but honestly thought it had just become unscrewed somewhere inside the casing. I took it to a patch up...

Wow what a bar-close with!
I've been looking for an cheap timepiece like this for a long time now. I grew wary of wearing high priced watches when I am resigned to slum it in a lowly Bentley or Aston Martin. This keep a sharp lookout for is perfect for that! Now I can blend into the same crowd that wears G-shocks and Rolexs! I find the faux leather to be a very comfortably touch! Almost looks real (scoffs, almost.) And it is somewhat accurate. But overall, I feel it could have been made minor extent cheaper in order to throw off the street urchins. Just the other day, I was minding my own business (And by that, I tight-fisted liquidating small business and sending jobs over to India, China, etc...) When some woman of non Anglo-Saxon origin begged me for money. I was appalled! Frightened even! I gave a look of put down to my bodyguard. Like a "You're not doing your job keeping this... Satisfying watch
This is an positively amazing watch. Its style is both very sober and elegant. It enables you to know what time and what day it is, don't envision anything else. The black croco leather strap is also very well manufactured.Actually, this is a typical Baume et Mercier outcome: fine, elegant, beautiful.
Very friendly watch
A very acute watch indeed. Classy, simple and elegant. And Baume et Mercier is a very well respected brand. One point to note is that although it's quite a wide watch (diameter), it's very thin and light.Overall, definitely recommended.

Outright fiasco - BEWARE when buying this.
Intial review article: (I wrote the day after I bought my 1st)stylish, elegant, understated, very thin, light weight, great buyhappy I bought it and legitimate got one for my brotherUpdate -The watch is a few months old.Style wise - I love it.HOWEVER - I am concerned it might allied with back about 10min a week.I may have to return and repurchase - which is annoying - but smooth if done through amazon - I hope.2nd update -The on definitely loses time. I looked down and thought I was on time - when in fact I was late - multiple times. Not what you anticipate from a new 1200$ watch. Further troubling is what I came to learn. Initially I contacted amazon reasonable that my fastest course of action was to return this watch and repurchase another. However that is a decent amount of pain - and who is to say that the go along with watch won't have that issue.
