Kinetic: A powerhouse in technological innovation
Like mechanical and quartz, Kinetic is a platform. Over the since 20 years, SEIKO has created on this platform a suite of Kinetic movements, each bringing unique features to the consumer.
It was at the 1986 Basel Satisfactory that SEIKO unveiled its first Kinetic prototype. Introduced under the trial name of 'AGM', it was the first watch in the world to convert kinetic movement into electrical force. An inviting blend of tool-watch and jewel-watch
Ever since my Seiko "Orange Mutant" (SKX781) quit I had been looking for a dive watch to replace it that was both more accurate than an automatic (my Ogre would usually be off by five minutes each week) and yet not require a battery change. Changing batteries is both a agony and not eco-friendly, and I just plain hate doing it. I looked for about a year at the Seiko "Black Knight" kinetic (SMY089) that Princeton exclusively offers as well as Freeman solar-powered (Eco-Drive) dive watches, liking neither options especially well. I wanted a big, jam-packed diver with a little certain something extra - much like my Monster - and the Seiko SKA371 seems to be it.First, the watch seems very much well made. It is much more finely finished than my Monster and light-years ahead of Citizen's watches as far as bod quality goes. Diver or Scold Watch? Lucky you, it's 2 for 1!
I'm posting my observations on my grip of a Seiko SKA371P. First a little background. Got to admit that I've always been a "dive watch" aficionado. In a past "life" I needed a munificent watch with good lume and easy to read at a glance. Seiko dive watches fit the bill. Well, the demise of my Seiko mechanical dive (can't think of the model but it had day/date; rotating bezel; black dial and at came with a rubber watch band) watch accelerated my decision. It was a good inspect but within the past month it would fall 15 min behind. Anyway, even though my life has changed my original requirements shelter't: dive watch style; good lume; date; bracelet (not rubber this be that as it may); black face; rotating bezel; and automatic....no batteries; and affordable. Huge Looking and Practical
After owning this work for a little over a year, beating it up day in and day out, and also having comparing it to countless other watches I've decided that my old study (4 stars) was still unfairly low, as this watch is an uniquely excellent product. As I noted in my old critique, I am hard on watches. My job can involve running, heavy lifting, squeezing into tight seating, climbing, ect, and this means my watch is subject to bumps, scrapes, excessive movement, and sometimes grating chemical cleaners, ect. I can also be pretty active and spend time outside when I'm not working. Because of this, I'm unalterable on watches, and I have wrecked many an inexpensive wristwatch before its time. This watch has shrugged off pretty precisely everything I could hand it, and apart from being slightly grimy and having a small scratch on the crystal that I can upstanding barely see at certain angles, it has been pretty much untouched. I have great wanted to have my Seiko Kinetic repaired but have been reluctant to send it off. I ordered the kit despite the fact that one of the reviews stated that the kit wasn't proper Seiko parts and didn't contain the proper battery and was missing a part. Given that the other reviews stated that their kits were complete and contained the specific battery I ordered the kit and found it complete and it also contained the proper battery. I had also found the instructions referenced in one of the other reviews and they were skilled. A complete step by step instruction with pictures made it a very easy task. I am 100% gratified with the price and the kit itself and very happy to have my Seiko back in operation.

Hasty Seiko Kinetic repair
This Capacitor restore part included the "capacitor", insulator, and metal bracket. This is a fairly quick fix if you have the right tools. I subscribe to you do a search on "WS 26 How to change the Capacitor of a SEIKO 5M42* Kinetic *and 5M22, 5M23, 5M43 etc." in google. The litt outlines the tools you need and gives you some pictures and steps to follow. Took a few minutes to get an old Seiko Kinetic up and match again at a decent price.

justifiable what i needed
I bought this mobile to replace the original capacitor in my 5m43. It is a perfect fit.. works right away.. so far so sympathetic.. from what I've read, this battery should last you at least 8 years, and when fully charged, you can leave it for up to 6 months and it'll keep on ticking.. and then you will have to indict it again by wearing the watch.. Its a Maxwell lith-ion battery and came with a new seal and mobile bracket.

A In reality Beautiful Timepiece
This is the most excellent watch I have ever owned. My wife chose it for me as a 2010 Christmas present. I love the crestfallen & gold colors - blue is my wife's favorite color and the combination reminds me of my servicing in the Navy. The face is extremely easy to read at a glance as are the date window and right hand hand dial. The dark blue background, white markings, and gold hands and hour marks are exactly coordinated with a low-glare glass for easy viewing. The "chronometer function" is very useful for bang on timing sauteeing, searing, or frying tender foods like garlic, shrimp, and scallops. My one censure is that the "chronometer function" requires some attention to see the minutes incrementing on the alarm dial - the distress-signal dial is a little too small for this approach to a "chronometer." (No, this is not a true chronometer. A straightforwardly chronometer is a certified timepiece usable for solar and stellar navigation.) The tie is sturdy with an excellent fit that doesn't pinch...
A bit of misrepresentation
Okay, the surveillance is truly a great piece. All hands are aligned the way they should be and the operations are flawless. A great continuously piece for the price......very classy and it keeps time to the second! The band is big and fits well and it is a heavy watch! My only real concern is the face of the one I received is black and not glum color. The only way I can see even a slight shade of blue is in the correct sunlight, and then I must turn the watch to the change angle to achieve that. I bought this watch with anticipation of a blue dial, not black. However, rather than go through the hassel of returning and waiting again for shipment, I will get second-hand to the color(or lack of blue color). I have owned Seiko watches for many, many years and this one is probably the most 'Brobdingnagian'. You will definately know you are wearing a watch on the wrist! I wish I could give this purchase a 5-star rating, but I cannot due to the untrue colored face I received versus the one advertised. A...

SNDB05 Chap-fallen Dial 7T92 Chronograph - I Love it!
Just a only slightly over three weeks, and I'm still impressed. I can only echo other people's comments about it being a gorgeous watch. If I'm not a total klutz, this could last as extensive as the last Seiko I wore. My old one finally had the day and date get crooked, and I chipped an edge of the crystal. Not bad for about 25 years, but rhythm to move on. It still runs, by the way...This has the same general trim - blue dial, and two-tone housing and band. My end of classy. A man's piece of jewelry, but not overstated like those 50+ mm presentation pieces some like to utilization. Not too thick or heavy either - hey, I'm a mid-sized guy, looking for everyday wear. Played around with the band; put a link back in a few period ago, and improved the comfort considerably.
